About This Workshop

The story is the same across many organisations: ‘We would like to know more, but we just don’t have the time/resources/expertise to do high quality evaluation’. New developments in technology for survey-based evaluation have made it possible to bridge this longstanding divide between aspiration and practice. This workshop shows how new technologies can enable your organization to collect, analyse and report results in real-time for far less cost in time and resources than a traditional approach to evaluation.

Conducting high quality evaluation takes expertise and resources, usually drawn from internal (time) or external sources (money). This workshop will equip you with the know-how you need to see how you can use automated evaluation systems to put your organisation on a firm foundation. The workshop will present a set of detailed case studies, including the inside story of establishing full-scale automated evaluation systems at Parque das Aves, one of Brazil’s leading tourist attractions. Other case studies include the National Gallery and National Marine Aquarium.

This workshop addresses the following questions:

  • What are the challenges and opportunities involved in using technology-enhanced evaluation methods?
  • How can you implement robust impact evaluation using automated evaluation systems?
  • How can you establish evidence-based decision-making rooted in technology-enhanced evaluation?
  • How can you reduce costs while improving the quality, reach and value of evaluation at your organisation through automation?

This workshop focuses on the steps involved in establishing technology-enhanced evaluation solutions.

For detailed guidance about the full range of evaluation methods, please consider the online course ‘Public Engagement Evaluation’ (methodsforchange.org/event/public-engagement- evaluation).
